Tile, the Finishing Touch
It’s not often we see a kitchen these days that doesn’t incorporate tile into some part of the design. Backsplashes, wall tiles and tiled floors are the usual applications, and with the popularity of streamlined cabinetry we’re noticing that homeowners are willing to go a little bolder with their tile choices. Tiles are the finishing touch for your kitchen.
Subway tiles are a classic look that can add drama when installed up to the ceiling.
Patterned mosaic tiles look both classic and modern. (Did you know that mosaic tiling is an ancient art used as far back as 4th Century BC?)
Herringbone or chevron is a masculine tile pattern that looks pretty in the kitchen. We love this pattern in marble.
Coloured tiles are a great contrast with light cabinetry. How pretty is this pale, seafoam green?
Arabesque tiles have a shape reminiscent of Moroccan styled interiors. Tiles in this shape are popping up more and they’re a great alternative to a more linear mosaic tile.
