Victoria couple rings in New Year with RINGHULT kitchen cabinets
When every inch of space matters, as it does in most basement suites, IKAN makes sure it’s used right. For this small space, keeping it bright with white, high-gloss Ringhult Ikea cabinets is a smart move.
A dramatic black hood fan becomes the focal point to complement the compact ceramic slide in range. And the black toe kick (under the lower cabinets) ties in the black and conceals a sloping floor.
The modern cabinets are complemented with a mix of white, stainless steel and black appliances. The large subway tile backslash we picked out was not only affordable but also creates a look of spaciousness because of its colour, size and horizontal lines. By forgoing up cabinets, we kept the food prep area open and ensured the small countertop is accessible. Large pull out drawers and cabinets on the refrigerator wall hold plenty.
“With smart design, a micro-kitchen should not have to sacrifice on essentials or luxuries found in a full-size kitchen,” says IKAN owner Kyler Davalovsky. “In order to keep the budget intact we needed to make the design work with their existing full-size appliances.”
Because of the kitchen size, a handy beverage space was created to make use of a small space.
