This is the story of two small town guys who met at carpentry school and had a dream of bringing well priced, stylish kitchens to Vancouver Island.Those guys were us, Anthony and Kyler, and we are IKAN Installations, Vancouver Island’s original IKEA kitchen installers. We pioneered the idea to bring IKEA kitchens to the Island back in 2010 and IKAN was born when we installed our first kitchen for Victoria-based design firm, Meade Design Group. We used our first paycheck to hire Meade to design us a logo and website so we could build our brand and the rest, as they say, is history. Well, not quite. The rest is how far we’ve come and where we are today.With a combined passion for detail, a fine set of carpentry skills and a shared enthusiasm for our business, we saw the potential in IKAN immediately and just a few months after our first job we were installing a kitchen every two weeks. Sure there have been bumps along the road, but in two short years we have taken IKAN from concept to reality and developed a system that works and results in very happy clients, too. We've grown a lot since working around the clock to assemble kitchens in our parents’ basement and now we run our own warehouse and office.To date we've installed nearly 170 kitchens and the majority of this work has come from referrals. In spring 2012 we were honored to be named one of Douglas Magazine’s 10 to Watch for creating a simple process that lets homeowners enjoy an IKEA kitchen without the daunting task of designing and installing it themselves.
